Christie Besse joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in 2009 and became the President of the firm January 2019. Since 2015, she has managed the day to day operations. This includes coordinating the staff, reviewing client work, and guiding firm expansion. In addition, she also handles BCP’s new client implementations and software conversions. Christie came from a background in industry and provides the invaluable experience in handling outsourced accounting. Her prior experience includes three years at Sam Yager Incorporated, one year at a global healthcare company and two years at Halliburton working in Sales and Use Tax. Christie graduated from Texas A&M University in 2004 and earned her CPA license in 2008.
Vice President/Tax Partner
Paul Carmona joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in April of 2013 and rose to Vice President in January 2019. He oversees the firm's tax services, from the preparation process to compliance and planning, as well as financial statements. Previously, Paul worked in public accounting for twelve years with a leading Houston CPA firm specializing in audits and reviews with the construction industry. Paul graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in December 1993 with an Accounting Degree, the University of Utah in May 1999 with an MBA, and achieved his CPA license in 2002.
Vincent Tran joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in May of 2010 and became partner in January 2021. A few of his responsibilities include supervising the BCP Financial Statement Preparation Team, preparing tax returns, reconciling cost segregations, and onboarding new clients. In 2007, he graduated from the University of Houston with a BBA in Finance and a BS in Economics and received his CPA license in July 2019.
Ericka Campos joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in January of 2014, since, she has taken charge of overseeing the bookkeeping department. She has over sixteen years of accounting and management experience, including financial reporting, auditing, full cycle bookkeeping, and team building. Prior to this, she spent eight years at Global Services as the Accounting Manager for multiple divisions and two years with Schlumberger as a job cost accountant. She graduated in accounting from Texas School of Business in 2002.
Jeff Partin, CPA and licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas , began his accounting career in 1993 as a bookkeeper for Lamar Construction, Inc. and later graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration – Accountancy. Jeff obtained his CPA license in 2004 and Real Estate Broker’s license in 2008. He currently serves as Besse, Carmona, and Partin's Consultant for company management, tax assistance, and client advice.
Lauren Beurlot interned at Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC during the summer of 2016 and returned as a full-time employee in June 2017. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Accounting from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2015, and then earned her Master’s degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University in 2017. Lauren received her CPA license in May 2018 and is pursuing her CFE. She handles the preparation of client financial statements, bookkeeping, other high-level projects, and designing processes and procedures for clients. Lauren also assists with new client onboarding.
David Burg joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in January of 2018. David graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017 with a degree in accounting and is currently working on earning his CPA certificate. He currently prepares payroll items, financials and tax returns. Additionally, he takes part in guiding his peers that are interested in taking the tax route.
Leslie Caillet joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in February of 2016. Prior to that, she start her career in 2016 managing the Houston office of a New Jersey based financial administrative firm where she gained experience in accounting, financial analysis, and operations management. She graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a BBA in finance and is currently pursuing her CPA certificate. Leslie's primary roles include supervising and preparing client financials, conducting reviews and coordinating audit requests from third parties.
Gloria Paredes joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in August of 2019 as a Staff Accountant after graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. She handles bookkeeping, company clean ups, recruiting, preparation of financial statements, and tax returns. On behalf of the company, Gloria takes part in recruiting and marketing. Gloria is also working on obtaining her CPA certification. She is a proud mother of two little boys.
Sharon Paredes joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC as a Staff Accountant in May of 2019 after graduating Texas A&M University with her bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She is working on obtaining her CPA certification. She handles a variety of tasks which includes bookkeeping, company clean ups, and financial statement preparation. Sharon also assists in managing several of our large bookkeeping clients and assisting in developing smooth procedures for those clients.
Jacob Almendarez joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in May of 2020 as a Staff Accountant after graduating with his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He handles client bookkeeping, preparing financial statement, tax returns, and recruiting. Additionally, he assists in software conversions with the firm. Jacob aspires to obtain a CPA certification.
Terri Cloud joined the Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC team in October of 2018. She brings nearly 30 years of experience from various industries, including eight years of accounting and analytics in the natural gas field, and eighteen years as the Accounting Manager for a commercial refrigeration company. Currently, Terri's main responsibilities are bookkeeping for several clients and tackling other various projects as needed.
Elizabeth Davis joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in August of 2011. Elizabeth's current responsibilities include general accounting, bookkeeping and banking management. Before joining the BCP's team, Elizabeth was the HR Accounting Manager at Brand Allen Architects, Inc. for ten years with offices in Houston and San Francisco. Elizabeth is a 1986 graduate of Brazoswood High School and attended college through her Junior year prior to starting a family. Elizabeth and her husband of twenty-two years now have two sons that are attending college at Sam Houston and the University of Iowa.
Dave Graham joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in January 2020 as a Staff Accountant after graduating from Texas A&M University with his bachelor's degree in Accounting in December 2019. His duties include client bookkeeping and tax return preparation. His skills in Excel and Data Modeling have added a new service the firm can offer. Dave aspires to obtain a CPA certification.
Jena Heap joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC team in June of 2020. She brings over thirty-three years of experience from various industries to build a career from the front desk to managing the accounting office. The last twelve years she has been in the remodeling and construction industry. Jena's primary responsibilities are bookkeeping for several clients and other projects as needed. Jena's off time includes playing tennis, horseback riding, and spending quality time with her family.
Kyle Ramirez joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC as a Staff Accountant after graduating from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a degree in Accounting. Kyle’s primary role with the company is preparing financial statements and handling bookkeeping duties for various clients.
Michelle Tran joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in February 2020 as a Staff Accountant. She graduated from the University of Houston with a double major in Finance and Supply Chain Management in 2011. Soon after graduating she began her career working for the Finance Department at Toyota for eight years. Michelle handles bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statement preparation.
Jody Swindell joined Besse, Carmona, and Partin, PC in January 2019. Jody contributes her 6 years of Receptionist and Administrative experience. Prior to coming to BCP, Jody was the Office Manager for an Oil Company here in Houston. Jody also worked in the Mortgage-Lending industry for roughly 20 years gaining knowledge in many departments. Jody is a native Houstonian, went to Sharpstown High School and attended College at S.F.A., Nacogdoches. In addition, Jody is the mother of 2 young men and grandmother to 3 adorable grandchildren.
